HLTFA402B Advanced
First Aid
The course duration is 16 hours
A prerequisite for this training is is that participants hold a current
Senior First Aid or Apply First Aid Certificate.
The course covers topics such as
- anatomy & physiology
- managing the accident scene
- vital signs
- oxygen
- fluid aspiration
- using pain relief
- defibrillation
- artificial airways
- childbirth
- toxic chemicals & hazards
- cervical collars
- advanced resuscitation techniques
The course qualification is valid for 3 years.
Cost $280 per person
For people who require an
occupational first aid qualification an additional unit of
competency needs to be undertaken. This unit is HLTFA403B Manage
First Aid in the Workplace.
This is a one day course which is offered the week after the Advanced
First Aid training and costs $200 if done by itself.
Cost for occupational first aid qualification [Apply advanced
first aid + Manage first aid in the workplace] is $430 per
person.
